Battle of Košare, which took place near the village of Košare on the border between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Albania, from 9 April to 10 June 1999, during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. Under Russian influence, the Serbian government during the rule of Aleksandar Vučić has heavily promoted this battle in order to further alienate the Serbian public from NATO and the collective West, while simultaneously fostering closer ties with the Kremlin.
