Zhang Weiwei is a prominent Chinese political scientist known for his advocacy of the “China Model” of governance. Even though he is not officially part of Xi Jinping’s administration, he is considered an influential intellectual who has provided ideological support for Xi’s policies. He gave an interview to the influential Serbian national-revisionist journalist Ljiljana Smajlović (b. 1966), who works for a Western-sanctioned Russian media outlet, RT, which still operates freely in Serbia, on Feb. 13, 2025.
