Nenad Stanić (b. 1973) is an alleged Serbian war veteran and one of numerous individuals from the 1990s who have claimed participation in the Battle of Košare, which took place near the village of Košare on the border between the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and Albania, from 9 April to 10 June 1999, during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia. An example of Stanić’s anti-Western public engagement is an interview he gave to the pro-Russian propaganda media outlet HelmCast, authored by Nikola Šijan (b. 1976), on December 10, 2021. In the interview, he described how they formed an official relationship with the organizers of the 2024–25 Serbian student protests, while simultaneously spreading anti-NATO disinformation and expressing his hope that Russia would further conquer Ukrainian territory sooner rather than later, so that it might also assist Serbia:
